Short Communication opposite Effects of Mast Cell Degranulation by Compound 48/80 on Peritoneal Inflammation in Swiss and Cba Mice
نویسندگان
چکیده
The murine strains differ in the number of peritoneal mast cells. Degranulation of peritoneal mast cells by single injection of compound 48/80 (1.2 mg/kg) followed by zymosan-induced (2 mg/ml, 0.5 ml/mouse) peritoneal inflammation caused either inhibition or enhancement of an early influx (at 4 h of peritonitis) of exudatory leukocytes in Swiss and CBA mice, respectively. These opposite effects correspond with statistically significant differences in the number of peritoneal mast cells in the intact Swiss (11 × 10 ) and CBA (39 × 10 ) mice.

متن کاملMast cells are responsible for the lack of anti-inflammatory effects of morphine in CBA mice.
BACKGROUND AND AIM Morphine co-injection has anti-inflammatory effects on zymosan-induced peritonitis in several strains of mice except that of CBA. As peritoneal mast cells (pMCs) are much more numerous in CBA mice than in SWISS mice, therole of pMCs in morphine-modulated zymosan peritonitis is compared in CBA and SWISS males. METHODS pMCs were treated in vitro with morphine or C48/80 for co...
متن کاملBaicalein, wogonin, and Scutellaria baicalensis ethanol extract alleviate ovalbumin-induced allergic airway inflammation and mast cell-mediated anaphylactic shock by regulation of Th1/Th2 imbalance and histamine release
Asthma is characterized by chronic inflammation, goblet cell hyperplasia, the aberrant production of the Th2 cytokines, and eosinophil infiltration into the lungs. In this study, we examined the effects of baicalein, wogonin, and Scutellaria baicalensis ethanol extract on ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthma by evaluating Th1/Th2 cytokine levels, histopathologic analysis, and compound 48/80-induced s...

Objective(s) Aristolochia indica has been widely used in the traditional medicine for the treatment of a variety of diseases. In the present study different extracts of roots of A. indica were evaluated for their antiinflammatory, antipruritic and mast cell stabilizing activity. Materials and Methods Anti-inflammatory activity was performed by compound 48/80 induced rat paw edema model and ...
متن کاملInhibitory effects of curcumin on passive cutaneous anaphylactoid response and compound 48/80-induced mast cell activation
Mast cells participate in allergies and inflammation by secreting a variety of pro-inflammatory mediators. Curcumin, the active component of turmeric, is a polyphenolic phytochemical with anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, and anti-allergic properties. The effects of curcumin on compound 48/80-induced mast cell activation and passive cutaneous anaphylactoid reactions are unknown. In...
